Options referring to the measurement units

Measurement units

Chose between the Metric or English measurement system.

Note: When changing this option all the distance values of the configuration are transformed from a system to another.

Coordinates

Number of decimals for coordinates

Number of decimals of the coordinates is used to draw points and to write them in the file.

Number of decimals for elevations

Number of decimals of the elevations is used to draw points and to write them in the file.

Distance scale factor used to eliminate the linear deformation of the map projection

Set the scale factor of the distances from profiles. This can be placed in the following ways: as a factor, in ppm, in cm/Km or in feet/Miles. All the calculated distances from coordinates will be scaled with this factor in order to eliminate the deformation of the map projection.

Note: Insert carefully this factor because it depends on the map projection which defines the coordinates and the area where you work. This factor should be placed opposite compared to the factor of distortion. For example, if the linear deformation of the area is +50 cm/km, then you must enter -50cm/Km or if the factor is 0.98765432 then must be introduced 1/0.98765432.

Reference elevation calculation

Number of decimals for calculating the integer part of reference elevation

Sets the number of decimal used to calculate the reference elevation of the profiles (the precision).

Note: The reference elevation will be calculated with the relative value along the minimum Z of the points from the profile. And so, for example, if the number of decimals is 0 the reference elevation will be the whole part of the minimum Z (the whole part of the meter), if the number of decimals is 1 the reference elevation will be minimum Z taken with one decimal (the whole part of a decimeter), if the number of decimals is 2 the reference elevation will be minimum Z taken with two decimals (the whole part of a centimeter).

Distance units

Measurements units

Sets the text with the number of the measurement unit for the distances. The text is used at the markings and at the labels of the profiles.

Number of decimals

Sets the number of decimals for the distances used at the marking and labels of the profile at the text with the distance attribute.

Number of digits

Sets the number of total characters used when writing the distances. This value represents the number of characters allocated for the measurement unit of the distance (m/feet) in the text with the distance attribute from the markings and labels of the profile.

Mark off units (kilometers / miles)

Measurement unit name

Sets the text with the name of the measurement unit for kilometers of miles. The text is used for the markings and labels of the profiles and at the row with the kilometers of the longitudinal profile.

Transformation factor to MU

Sets the number of units (m or feet) that corresponds for a Km (a mile).

Use subdivision for kilometers (miles)

Writes subdivisions part of the row with the kilometer of the longitudinal profile.

Subdivision unit name

Sets the text with the name of the measurement unit of the subdivision. The text is used in the row with the kilometer of the longitudinal profile.

Transformation factor to MU

Sets the number of units (m or feet) that corresponds to a subdivision.

Units of gradients

Units of measurement of gradients

Choose the unit of measure for gradients as one to one hundred (%) or one to one thousand (‰).

Number of decimals for gradients

Sets the number of decimals used to display gradients.
