Configuration - Files

In this section, you can set the files used by program.

Codes interpretation file is a text file that can be chosen and edited by user relative to the specific of the designed project. By example for cadastral projects points’ codes can be saved in a file specifically for cadastral projects and for roads points’ texts can be in another file. You can find description of this file and editing mode in Codes interpretation file description.

The layer file is a text file that contains the layers used by program when calling. You can find description of this file and editing mode in Layers file description.

Lines file is an AutoCAD file that contains linetypes, which will be loaded in drawing when you program starts. These lines are also needed to change automatically linetypes relative to codes file when using command ChL.

Shape file is an AutoCAD file of type shape compiled or not. The shapes from this file will be loaded in drawing when the program is called. These shapes will be used as punctiform symbols and will be inserted in drawing by point’s code when using command IB.

The path for symbols block.dwg file is the path where are the punctiform symbols allocated for points’ codes. Blocks defined in codes interpretation file that are on this path will be loaded in drawing when program is called. These blocks (punctiform symbols) will be inserted in drawing by point’s code when you use command IB.

It is recommended that both punctiform symbols (type block.dwg or shape) to be created in mm or in inch (1 CAD graphical unit = 1mm or 1 graphical unit = 1inch). When you insert them, these symbols will be scaled relative to scale used at plan creation. For the case of symbols, which differ as style when you work at different plan scales (accordingly to conventional signs…), you will create separated symbols for each scale but still drawn in mm or in inch.

Coordinates order from file refers to the way points’ coordinate will be read or written from file. You can find details about coordinates file structure at Coordinates file description.

Coordinates’ files extension is the extension of the files used by user, by example .COO or .XYZ, etc. Coordinate files are text files, the description of these files you can find at Coordinate file description.

The extension of sightshot points (polar points) file is the extension of the files that works with the program for sightshot points. This kind of files can be opened with TopoLT directly from Windows if allocation is made properly.

When exporting to a DXF file with the DxfExp command, entities can be filtered by keeping only the entities that are on one of the five layers. Also, for exporting to a DXF file, you can choose the file version.

For point cloud export you can choose which point attributes you want to be saved in the file. Available attributes may include: color, intensity, classification or normals.

Some attributes may not be saved even if selected, if the chosen file format does not support them (for example, the LAS/LAZ format does not support saving normals).

The default extension for point cloud export will be used in the file selection window.

The point cloud compression setting is used only for PCD format files. For LAS/LAZ format, compression is determined by choosing the LAZ extension. Other file types do not support compression.
