model
3D model can be cut to realize a diminishing of this or to create a hole
in the model. Cutting of a 3D model can be useful in certain cases when you
want to calculate volumes.
3D models accepted for cutting can be entities of type: 3DFace,
PolygonMesh or PolyFaceMesh.
Entities accepted for cutting limit are: any kind of 2D or 3D polylines
(normal, spline-fit or curve-fit), circles or ellipses.
3D model resulted from cutiing will always be an entity of type PolyFaceMesh.
In case there are used 3D models of grid type it is better to use 3D
model format composed of triangles and rectangles. This setting can is realized
with command TopoCfg section 3D Model. By using this option
there will be created rectangles in the resulted model where ever it is
possible.
For this command there are not accepted closed 3D models such as by
instance a sphere or models that have overlapping 3D faces.
