It sets information referring to the units and their mode of use in the TransLT application.

Plain units

It selects from the list the plain unit.

The description of the predefined plain units of the program can be found at The table with plain units.

Geocentric Cartesian coordinates

It sets the number of decimals for the geocentric Cartesian coordinates (X, Y, Z).

Geographic coordinates

It sets the number of decimals for the seconds of the geographic coordinates (φ, λ). When this angle is shown in decimal degrees the number of decimals is equal to the number of decimals for seconds plus 6.

It sets the number of decimals for the ellipsoidal elevations (h).

Coordinates in the projected system

It sets the number of decimals for the projected plane coordinates (N, E, H).

Parameters

It sets the number of decimals for translations.

It sets the number of decimals for angles and the scale factor.

General note: The maximum number of decimals differs from the 32 bits system to the 64 bits one. The calculation precision at the 32 bits system is higher because the processor accepts real numbers defined in 80 bits (10 bytes) while the 64 bits system accepts real numbers for a maximum of 64 bits (8 bytes). For example, the maximum number of decimals for geocentric Cartesian coordinates (X, Y, Z) in 32 bits Windows is 11 (7 + 11 = 18 significant numbers) while in 64 bits Windows is 8 (7 + 8 = 15 significant numbers). Number 7 represents the necessary numbers for the integer part of coordinates (X, Y, Z).

Characters for writing angles

Degrees

It sets the character used for indicating degrees.

Minutes

It sets the character used for indicating minutes.

Seconds

It sets the character used for indicating seconds.

Use N,S or E,W for hemisphere abbreviation

It uses or not the N, S or E, W characters when writing geographic coordinates. If this option is not used, the value of the latitude for the southern hemisphere and of the longitude for the western hemisphere will be preceded by the minus sign (-).
