The selected coordinate reference systems (CRS) can be used in the following cases:
- To extract the parameters of a projection and the data referring to the datum on which the conversion is used;
- To select the start and destination CRS in the case of creating a transformation model using the EPSG database.
Identified Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS)
It shows in a tabular manner an inventory of the coordinate reference systems (CRS) as a result of an interrogation in the EPSG database on the base of a filter comprising one or more criteria. The text of the criteria (the CRS Type field is an exception) will be used as whole or part of a whole for interrogating the records of the database. Therefore an interrogation after the area of use using the characters oman will return records from Romania and also Oman.

The criteria that can be used for filtration are the following:
- Area: the name of the area (English orthography) in which a certain CRS is used. This can be the country or in some CRSs from USA, Canada or Australia the name of the state / province / territory;
- CRS Type:
- Vertical;
- Engineering;
- Projected;
- Geographic 2D;
- Geographic 3D;
- Geocentric;
- Compound;
- Derived.
- Method Code: the unique identification code of the method, filter available only for Projected type CRS-es;
- Datum Name;
- CRS Name;
- CRS Code: the unique identification code of a CRS in the EPSG database.
