Options referring to the representation and drawing mode of the longitudinal profiles.

Longitudinal profiles scale

Length scale

It sets the scale of the lengths used when drawing the tables for the longitudinal profiles

Elevation scale

It sets the scale of the elevations used when drawing the tables for the longitudinal profiles.

Table Header

Font

It selects the font used when writing the texts from the table header.

Table header language

It selects the language in which the table header will be written.

Longitudinal profile name

The name associated to the longitudinal profile.

Table header width

It sets the dimension of the table header

Color of profile name and number

It selects the text color for the name and number of the profile.

Table Data

Font

It selects the font used when writing information in the table.

Text height for rows with calculated data

The height for the drawn texts with commands CalcZ and CalcDCL for longitudinal profiles.

Text width for rows with calculated data

The width for the drawn texts with commands CalcZ and CalcDCL for longitudinal profiles.

Number of decimals for elevations

It sets the number of decimals used when writing the elevations.

Number of decimals for distances

It sets the number of decimals used when writing the distances.

Avoid the overlapping of texts for the rows with vertically written texts

The texts of the following rows: point number, point type, existing heights, cumulated distances, cumulated slope distances, cumulated distances between objects and heights of platform drawn with CalcZ command can be moved to the left or to the right to avoid overlapping when points are close. Overlapping depends on the distance between points, the profile scale factor of length and the text height. The way to avoid the overlapping is by dispersing the group of overlapped texts starting from the center of it in the limit of the available space to the left and right.

Fit texts to row

In the case that the texts do not fit in the allocated row the longitudinal text scale factor is shrinked. If the scale factor drops below the 0.5 value then the text scaling is not applied.

Use lines and distances only in section points or in objects points

It draws in the table only the vertical lines corresponding to the section points or the points that represent objects. The lines and data from the corresponding table of the other points are eliminated. The same option is useful to reduce the number of vertical lines in the case of the longitudinal profiles that have a large density of points.

Avoid drawing lines and texts for points at a distance less than:

By using this option you can choose a minimum distance between the profile points for which you will avoid drawing vertical lines and row texts. This option is useful for removing overlapping text from areas where the points are too close.

Compute kilometers/miles on 3D distances

The mark off in kilometers (miles) will be made using the 3D distances (the sum of inclined distances). For the case in which the kilometer is calculated on 3D distances it can be chosen that the origin of the inclined distance to be taken from the profile kilometer. In the case in which the option of 3D calculation isn’t chosen it can be chosen that the origin of the cumulated horizontal distance to be taken from the profile kilometer.

Changing the origin of the cumulated distance is useful in the case in which a road, for example, is split in many sections and for each section a longitudinal profile is created.

Minimum declivity difference between two profile segments (applies only to existing gradients)

It defines the minimal value of the difference between the declivities of two successive segments for which it is considered that the two segments have the same slope. This value is available only in the case in which the table contains the existing row and it is useful in order to signal slope changes for very small differences. Value is used only for drawing the row of existing gradients.

Declivity block

It selects the .dwg file that defines the block that will be used to mark the change of declivity. If a block isn’t selected than the declivity change will not be marked

Draw points codes above reference line

It draws the text codes of the points that define the profile over the reference line. This option is useful in order to identify through which points the profile was made.

Objects

Objects color

It selects the color used when representing the objects from the profile.

Objects names in language 1 and language 2

It defines the name of the objects as they will appear in the table header at the rows with the Distance between objects and Cumulated distances between objects. With these names the text found between the commas from the name of the two rows will be changed.

Points code used for object identification

It sets the identification code of the points that represent objects. The identification points with this code must be with the points from the profile and must have a higher elevation than that of the terrain. The object height is equal with the difference of elevation (Z) between the two points. The number of the object will be extracted from the point code. For example, if the identification code is STL then the points will have the codes STL1, STL2, etc.

Draw in the top the elevation and the height of the object

Choose whether to draw or not the elevation and height of object on the top of the object.

Draw at the bottom the object elevation

Choose whether to draw or not the elevation at the bottom of the object.

Longitudinal profiles arrangement options

Number of columns

It sets the number of columns in which the page is split. For the value 1 it will be taken in consideration the whole page.

Number of rows

It sets the number of rows in which the page is split. For the value 0 it will not be taken in account the splitting in rows of the page.

Vertical profile distance

It sets how much free space will be let between the vertical profiles when drawing in page or when quick drawing. When arranging in page half of this distance is used in order to leave a space between the profile and the top and bottom margins of the border.

Horizontal profile distance

It sets how much free space will be let between the horizontal profiles when quick drawing a longitudinal profile spit into pieces. When arranging in page half of this distance is used to let a space between the profile and the left and right margins of the border and in order to leave a space between the vertical line that defines a column and a profile.

Profile alignment

It selects the alignment type of the profiles: to the left, to the right or centered. In the case of a central alignment for calculating the middle point it will not be taken in consideration the width of the table header.

Fit profile to specified height

It sets the maximum value of the graphical representation height of the profile. This option is useful in order to reduce the height of the profile. The calculation is made by changing the reference elevation respecting the following algorithm: the changes of the reference elevation are applied by searching the longest parts of the profile that do not fit in this band.

Split profile to specified length

It sets the length of the pieces in which the profile will be split. This length includes the table header. The pieces of the profile obtained in this mode will be numbered by adding the “/number” suffix, where “number” indicates the current number of the profile piece.

Types of used lines

Line type for profile polyline in plan

It sets the type of line used to represent in the situation plan of the polylines of the longitudinal profiles.

Line type and color for profile section line

It sets the type and color of line that are used to represent the section lines of the longitudinal profile.

Draw mark for start and end of project

If the draw mark option is used then for all the longitudinal profiles the start and end markings of the profiles will be draw.

Mark color

It selects the color of the start and end marking of the profile.

Font

It selects the font with which the marking text will be written.

Text height

It sets the height of the text with which the marking will be written.

Longitudinal profile text scale

It sets the scale factor of the text marking.

Text for project start

The text that will be shown at the start marking of the profile.

Text for project end

The text that will be shown at the end marking of the profile.

Distance between profile polyline and texts

The distance between the profile polyline (ax) and the text markings. This distance is useful in order to draw the marking texts outside the occupied zone, for example outside of the road.

Note: : If the parameters referring to the marking are changed and in the drawing exist longitudinal profiles then a regeneration of these profiles will be made.

Select rows for longitudinal profiles

It selects the rows that will be contained in the table of the longitudinal profile. For each row there can be defined: the height of the row (height of the row), height of the text from the table header, the longitudinal scale factor of the text from the table header, the height of the text for the table data and the longitudinal scale factor of the text for the table data. The height of the rows and of the texts will be introduced in mm for the metric measurement system or in inch for the english measurement system. When selecting the rows that are marked with black for which the program will complete the data with information, calculate, and with blue the additional rows that aren’t completed by the program following that that the user will complete them later.

The list of allocated rows is extracted from the defined file at Files Tab – Used Files – Profile table rows file name.
