Calculates heights of platform or the differences on the height and draws in the profile table the texts of these elevations. Text height and width can be chosen from Longitudinal Profile Tab - Table Data for drawing text in longitudinal profiles or from Cross Profile Tab - Data table for drawing text in cross profiles. The texts are drawn with the current used parameters in the drawing for layer and color.

The command is useful to complete the row of platform heights or the row with the differences in height in axis. You can apply this command after drawing the designed platform (red line) in the profile or selecting points that require writing the designed height.

When selecting a polyline heights are calculated from the intersection of polylines segments with vertical lines chosen by the user. If there are double vertical lines selected then it will be taken into account only one of the lines to avoid writing the same text several times. Also to avoid overwriting texts in the case of selecting points if the points are identical then it is written a single text. To avoid the partially overlapping of the texts check the option Avoid the overlapping of texts for the rows with vertically written texts from ProfCfg - General Tab - Draw profile.

    Because applying this command involves selecting more entities, take care when you make the selections. The data that this command demands are:
  1. It asks if the profile is longitudinal or not. Depending on the answer to this question the ratio between the lengths scale and the elevation scale is determined and what text style is used;
  2. Elevations are calculated from a reference that is line or polyline. For the horizontal line case, the calculation is made with reference elevation and for the polyline, the differences between the terrain elevations and the designed elevations (red line) are calculated;
      In the case of the reference line it is required:
    • Profile reference elevation [Zref]. The designed elevations are calculated relating to this elevation;
    • The reference horizontal line of [Zref.]. This line, generally, is the upper line of the profile table.This line is marked by the reference elevation line. To select this line, in the case of the profiles made with ProfLT, you must have the profile exploded;
      In the case of the reference polyline it is required:
    • The reference polyline (terrain line). This polyline can be: normal 2D polyline, 2D polyline with arches, polyline fit or polyline spline;
  3. It is required to choose the way of calculating the heights for a polyline or points;
      In the case of polyline it is required:
    • The designed platform polyline (red line). This polyline can be: normal 2D polyline, 2D polyline with arches, polyline fit or polyline spline.
    • The vertical lines with the profile positions where the heights will be calculated. The height of the platforms will be calculated for these lines.
      In the case of points it is required:
    • Entering points by picking in the drawing. Ending the introduction of points is done by pressing Enter;
  4. Upper point and lower point of the row. Choose two points to indicate the position and height of the row in which the texts are drawn.

Calculation mode

  1. Case of the horizontal reference line:
    • In the case of selecting the vertical lines as indicators of the positions in which the elevations will be calculated, the calculation will be made by intersecting these vertical lines with the horizontal reference line and the projected platform polyline, the difference per elevations is added to the value of the entered profile reference elevation;
    • In case of selecting the points as indicators of the positions in which the elevations will be calculated, the calculation will be made by the difference between the Y coordinate of the points with the Y coordinate of the reference line, the value is added to the value of the entered profile reference elevation.
  2. The case of the reference polyline:
    • If the case of selecting the vertical lines as indicators of the positions in which the differences on the elevations will be calculated, the calculation will be made by intersecting these vertical lines with the reference polyline (terrain line) and the projected platform polyline (red line). The difference in elevation is calculated as Z(designed platform) - Z(terrain);
    • In case of selecting the points as indicators of the positions in which the elevations will be calculated, the calculation will be made by intersecting the vertical lines passing through these points with the reference polyline (terrain line). The difference in elevation is calculated as the difference between the Y coordinate of the points and the Y coordinate of the points obtained by the intersection.

Elevations differences are scaled, if necessary, according to the deformation given by the profile length scale and elevation scale.

In the case of the reference polyline, the direction of decrease Z(designed platform) - Z(terrain) has the following logic: (1) if the elevation of the designed platform is below the ground level, a value with minus to indicate the level of excavation will be signaled; (2) if the elevation of the designed platform is above the ground level, a plus value will be signaled to indicate the level of filling.
