RecCom

       Command line: RecCom

           Description: receive measurements from an instrument

       TopoLT toolbar:

           Menu: TopoLT » Instrument » Receive measurements

Using this command you can receive measurements (measured data) on serial port (COM1, COM2, etc.) from an instrument (total station, electronic theodolite, field book, PocketPC, etc.).

Communication parameters on serial port will be set so that to correspond to parameters that were set in instrument.

To receive data on serial port follow the next steps:

1.  connect instrument to the PC on serial port;

2.  set the same parameters of serial communication;

3.  press button [Receive];

4.  using instrument menu go to data transfer mode to PC. While data are received they will be written in edit window;

5.  after receiving data press button [Stop receive].

After finishing receiving data can be saved in a text file. File’s extension must be identical with instrument type’s extension that is accepted at measurements import if function Crad is used for sightshot points (polar points) calculation. By example, if data are received from a SOKKIA instrument then data must be saved with extension .sdr, from a Leica instrument with extension .gsi etc.

This function does not depend on the settings made at Configuration - Instrument because it takes over the data as they are written in instrument, without interpreting them as function RxCoo does, function that takes over only coordinates from received data.

Function can be also called directly from Windows. You can find description of the way this function can be called from Windows at Command parameters for calling from Windows.
