This represents another operating mode with TransLT through which coordinates files can be converted using one of the transformation models.

The program for file conversion can be called by selecting from the contextual menu of Windows Explorer, which appears by right click of the mouse on a coordinate file, the command Convert with TransLT for the files that have the associated extension for coordinate reading or by selecting from the TransLT menu, installed in Windows, the File conversions command. The association of the extensions for the files from which the coordinates are read can be made at Options – General Tab - File conversions (external use) .

This command is useful to quickly convert one or more coordinates files or in the case of big files to avoid loading the coordinates in the table and implicitly overloading the memory of the computer.

Selected files with ... coordinates

The list of files that will be converted. The list is loaded by calling this command for one or more files.

Button [ – ]

It deletes the selected files from list.

Button [ + ]

IT Adds a file on list.

More files can be added to this list by using the procedure drag and drop with the mouse from Windows Explorer for one or more files.

Note: The selected files must contain data of the same type of coordinates because for the entire list of files a single transformation model is applied.

Select the transformation model

The list of transformation models defined by the user that can be made using the main program, section Universal Transformations.

Select form this list the transformation model that will be applied when converting for all the files.

The transformation models that do not contain coordinate operations are shown in gray. If a model without operations is selected, the conversion cannot be done.

The information on the initial and final coordinate system of the selected transformation model is shown under this list.

Use reverse transformation

Select or not reverse transformation. The option is active only if the transformation model supports reverse transformation.

Initial coordinate system (CRS) / Final coordinate system (CRS)

The initial and final coordinate systems of the selected transformation model are presented in this box. If option Use reverse transformation is checked, the writing of the two systems is inverted.

Note: In order not to make a wrong conversion make sure that the data files are similar in type with the initial coordinate system. For example, for files that contain geographic coordinates (φ, λ, h) a transformation model with the type of coordinates (φ, λ, h) must be selected for the initial coordinate system.

Epoch of the dynamic coordinates

For time-dependent transformation models, the epoch t or the time interval given by t0 and t values is required.

Associated file extension for output coordinates

Introduce the extension.

The files obtained through conversion are saved with this extension on the same path and with the same name.

Note: For the files from the list that have the extension identical with this extension, saving is done by adding a number to the file name.
