Windows style

Choose from the list the style of the Windows as most suitable for you.

Language file

It changes the language used by the program by choosing a corresponding file with the extension .lng or .csv. The files can be found in the installation directory of the application. The change of the used language does not reguire restarting the application.

Predefined data

EPSG database file

It sets the file that contains the EPSG database. The file must be a .mdb type file (Microsoft Access Database). For newer versions that will appear in the future you can load the file from the EPSG and then use it in TransLT.

Button Select favorites Coordinate Reference systems (CRS)

It opens The window for selecting the Coordinate Reference System (CRS) from the EPSG database in order to permit the user to select the favorite coordinate reference systems.

Button Select favorites Coordinates Operations

It opens The window for selecting the favorites coordinate operations from the EPSG database in order to permit the user to select the favorite coordinate operations that will be used later to load the parameters from the EPSG database.

Button Edit ellipsoids

It opens the ellipsoids editing window in order to introduce new ellipsoids or to edit the existing ellipsoids.

Geographic coordinates order in tables and files

It chooses the order in which geographic coordinates are read or written in the tables of the application and in files it uses to operate.

φ, λ, h

The order is latitude, longitude and ellipsoidal height.

λ, φ, h

The order is longitude, latitude and ellipsoidal height.

Coordinates (North, East) order in tables and files

It chooses the order in which plane coordinates are read or written in the tables of the application and in files it uses to operate.

N, E, H

The order is North, East and altitude.

E, N, H

The order is East, North and altitude.

CSV files

Separator character

It sets the character used to delimitate the fields in the .csv file types. The initial value is taken from Windows setting for region and language.

Tables of coordinates

Cleans empty rows of the tables with the results of transformations

It sets the deletion or keeping of the empty rows at coordinates transformation from a table to another.

Saving the coordinates in file

Fixing values at the decimal number of coordinates

It sets whether to fix or not the decimals number as set at Options - Units Tab when writing real numbers and angles in file. When this option is not used unformatted data is saved in file

File conversions (external use)

Another mode through which TransLT can be used is by external use to convert the coordinates files, the description can be found at Coordinates files conversions.

Associated file extensions for input coordinates

It sets the extensions of the files that will be recognized by TransLT for the direct application (by using the contextual menu of Windows Explorer) of a transformation.

When using TransLT in Windows 7, 8, 10 or in future versions the changing of these extensions is possible only if you start the application with administrator rights. To do this, choose from the menu, that appears by right clicking on the TransLT icon, the command Run as administrator.

Associated file extension for output coordinates

It sets the extension of the resulted files after a direct application of a transformation.

Write the values of the angles (φ, λ) in decimal degrees

If this option is used the resulted geographic coordinates will be written in decimal degrees.

Data encoding for point cloud files

Note: For files PLY that support the binary encodings LittleEndian or BigEndian, the encoding type will always be chosen LittleEndian, which is commonly used in the Windows operating system.

Compress if possible

In the case of binary encoding, you can choose whether the binary data will be compressed or not. Compression is only supported by some file formats (for example, the PCD - Point Cloud Data format).

Note: For PCD files that support a maximum uncompressed data size of 4 GB, compression will be abandoned if the data exceeds this value.

Coordinate precision when saving to binary file

This option defines the numeric type used to store the coordinates (X,Y,Z) in the binary file. The selection affects both the file size and the level of precision preserved during saving. Coordinates are internally managed in 64-bit (Double) format and can either be preserved or converted when saving.

Note: For large coordinate values or applications where precision is important, the 64-bit option is recommended.

For other information regarding point clouds, see the Point Cloud File Management.

Encoding type for text files

Choose the encoding type of text files which is used when they are saved. Another type of encoding can be chosen only when saving table coordinates in files.

View reports

Choose the visualizing mode of the reports obtained after the parameters calculation. Saving reports in file can be made for any of these formats regardless of the visualization mode.

Note: The RTF format (Rich Text Format) for tables is not correctly presented in Windows XP but if the report is saved as rtf file it is correctly written and can be opened with Microsoft Word.

Page setup

The page setup for printing is usable for html, RTF pages and for reports and tables exported to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word.

List box Choose the measurement units of the page

Select the measurement unit of the page: millimeters or inch. The initial value is taken from Windows settings for region and language.

Button Define page and margins

It opens the configuration window of the page from where you can choose the page size, layout and printing margins. The initial value for the size is A4 for the metric system or Letter 8.5"x11 for the English system.

Reset hidden messages

Show all messages that have been hidden by selecting "Do not show this message again"

With this option you can review all warning messages hidden by you.
