DrawKml

       Command line: DrawKml

           Description: draw entities from Google Earth file using a TransLT transformation model

       TopoLT toolbar:

           Menu: TopoLT » Useful » Draw Google Earth file

Using this command you can draw from a Google Earth file (KML or KMZ files) polygons (closed polylines), paths (open polylines) and points. The conversion of the coordinates from the geographic coordinate system on the WGS84 or ETRS89 (GRS80) ellipsoid, the first Greenwich meridian, to the projection system can be done with one of the transformation models defined in TopoCfg - Transformations Section.

In the "Transformations" directory on the path where the program is installed, copy one or more transformation models generated with TransLT through which the coordinates of the entities in the file can be transformed. The transformation model must be defined to transform the coordinates from the geographic coordinate system WGS84 or ETRS89 (GRS80), the Greenwich prime meridian, to the projection system used in the CAD drawing;

Entities taken from KML or KMZ files can be: 2D polylines, 3D polylines or points. These are drawn on layers that will have the name of the folder they belong to. The color of the layer is taken from the drawing style of the entities. If the entities are not in a folder then they will be drawn on the current layer.

Polygon labels are drawn using the label drawing properties defined from the TopoCfg - Areas Section.

The points are drawn similar to drawing done with the RapPct command.

Note: To perform coordinate conversion, carefully select the transformation model. In the case of selecting a time-dependent transformation model, it is also required to enter the epoch t, expressed in years with decimals, for the calculation of dynamic coordinates.
