Configuration - Points

In this section, you can set the way to write points.

For texts that describe a point, you can choose font, text height, symbol diameter for point (node), and writing angle. For a better functioning of CAD program, it is recommended to choose one of the fonts shx predefined such as RomanS, RomanD, RomanC, ItalicC, etc. Text height and symbol diameter will be introduced in mm or in inch. Points’ text and symbols diameter will respect these dimensions at printing. Angle under which texts will be written will be introduced in grades in topographical rotation system with origin 0.0000g on North axis and rotation direction clockwise.

The shape of the point is the shape of the symbol (node) defined in CAD program at PointStyle. This setting is available only in case that attributes block allocated for points has an entity of POINT type. If attributes block allocated for points is changed and instead of a POINT entity used to mark point position in coordinates it is used anything else, then setting of point diameter is no longer available.

Choosing another block .dwg that can be done by user can change attributes block name. Attributes block defining point has to be made in such way that the node to be in origin and to contain minimum 3 attributes put in order (point name, point elevation, point code). You have to set attributes for point as invisible. You can name attributes in any way.

Graphical point code is the default code for points introduced in a graphical way. This code will be allocated for all points introduced in a graphical way.

The minimum distance between points is the distance for which two points are being considered overlapped. Use it in case you want to eliminate common points, points placed one to each other at a smaller distance than this value. This distance is also used in searching entities that pass through or near the point.

For newly introduced points in the drawing, manually or automatically, you can choose whether to fix or not the number of decimals of points coordinates. Also for these points you can choose if the lines and polylines passing by points are broken, the lines are broken into two lines when the point is on the line and in the case of a polyline a new vertex is inserted.

When drawing points from a file or points received from an instrument the following operations can be done:

·      checking points overlaps;

·      eliminating common points;

·      ordering points by name;

·      checking points with the same name;

·      optimizing points texts position.

Checking for overlapping is done when points are being written in drawing. If there is already inserted a point in the same coordinates values then there will be questions for confirmation about: replacing the point (existing point is erased and the new one is inserted), unreplacing (the existent point remains and the new one is not inserted) or overwriting (the new point is written over the existing one). When overlapping checking is asked program run slowly because it checks for each inserted point if there is already inserted a point in the drawing with the same coordinates values.

Points to eliminate are the points placed one to each other at a smaller distance than the minimum distance between two points.

Ordering is made by point’s name but first considering the ones containing characters, second those containing both characters and numbers and lasts those containing only numbers.

Checking points with the same name is made for points from coordinates table that will be drawn with command RapPct or command RxCoo. In case in table there are points cu the same name program will show a message that contains line numbers (ID) for the two points.

Optimization can be done so that would be no overlapping between points’ texts and the points with no free space for their texts will be passed on the layer of overlapped texts.
