Configuration - Units
In this section, you can set the working mode with measurement units.
In CAD program to set units for topographical style means to change
units from CAD program so that it will show decimal numbers accordingly to
decimals allocated for coordinates, angles origin will be orientated to N and
angles will be measured in topographical way (clockwise). This setting is made
when TopoLT program is loaded.
In TopoLT program measurement units can be in metric or english measurement
system. When you change measurement system some checks have to be done, these
checks are described at What needs to be done when changing measurement
units.
Decimal number for coordinates represents working precision. All
coordinates will be approximated to this precision. Changing this value will
influence the writing mode in coordinates’ files and in coordinates’ tables as
well. This value will establish also the precision for fixing points when
commands FixPct and AutoPct are
applied. The values of calculated areas modify by increasing this value.
Decimals number for elevations is the decimals number with which points
and contour levels elevations will be written.
Text with the name of measurement unit for coordinates will be used when
the coordinates will be written in a table.
For distances, areas and volumes that needs to be posted when they are
calculated you can choose decimals number, reduction factor to measurement unit
and text with the name of measurement unit.
Determination of distances, areas and volumes will always be made in
basic units, for metric system in m, m², m³ and for english system in feet,
sq.ft., cu.ft. To transform these values from one unit to another use reduction
factor. For example, to transform distances from m to km reduction factor is
0.001, and to transform areas from m² to ha factor is 0.0001.
