What needs to be done when changing measurement units

When you change measurement units from metric system to english system or reverse you must check the following program configuration parameters:

q     all measurement values expressed in mm or in inch must be checked and changed if need;

q     plan scale will be changed (section Plan) accordingly to standard scales used in the two measurement systems, for metric system 1:1000, 1:2000, etc. and for english system 1:1200, 1:2400, etc.;

q     graticule lines frequency will be changed (section Graticule) accordingly to standard distances used at graticule drawing;

q     border margins will be changed (section Plan layout) accordingly to standards used at plans layouts drawing in metric or english system;

q     block containing table (plan layout cartouche) will be changed (section Plan layout) with a block defined in mm or in inch, meaning that drawing with this block must be realized in such way that 1 CAD graphical unit = 1mm or 1 CAD graphical unit = 1inch;

q     values for contour levels equidistance and main contour levels frequency will be changed (section 3D model) so that contour levels representation to be conform with standards used in metric or english system;

q     path where you find blocks with punctiform symbols and linear symbols file will be changed (section Files). Punctiform conventional signs and linear conventional forms must realized in such way that 1 CAD graphical unit = 1mm or 1 CAD graphical unit = 1inch. If blocks with punctiform conventional signs are realized in another scale then you can correct their scale at codes defining when you allocate a block for a code (see Codes interpretation file description). If linear conventional signs (lines types) are in a different scale you can correct their scale by modifying in a proper way variable LTSCALE from CAD program;

q     choose codes interpretation file (section Files) accordingly to codes system you use. This change has to be made because in codes interpretation file there are links between point code and block with punctiform symbol allocated for inserting or with line type (linear symbol) that passes through this point;

q     check and change if it needs texts with measurement units (section Units) for coordinates, distances, areas and volumes.
